Black Country Garden City NCPT Project
Project Partners: Oliver Hölzinger (CEEP), Dawn Griffiths (Natural England), Susan Murray (Natural England), James Holiday (Sandwell MBC) & Michele Ross (Wolverhampton City Council)
Client: Natural England
Project Duration: December 2017 – May 2018
The aim of the project was to test and apply the Natural Capital Planning Tool (NCPT) developed by CEEP alongside new green infrastructure mapping evidence for the Black Country.
CEEP contributed to the project by (1) reviewing the green infrastructure mapping evidence with respect to informing NCPT assessments, (2) running a training workshop with the aim to equip planners in the Black Country (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton) with the relevant skills to use the NCPT, (3) use the NCPT to assess proposed development plans in the Black Country, and (4) run another workshop with a focus on presenting and discussing the NCPT project outcomes to a wider audience.
